INNOVATIVE AI FOR HOSPITALS

midtchat is an AI-powered chatbot tailored to hospitals in Region Midtjylland. It is designed to answer questions about the region’s procedures, regulations, and related topics with high-quality, verified answers from the region’s own experts.

The project was initiated to support Health IT’s efforts in handling complex registrations in the electronic patient journal (EPJ), a task that was often time-consuming. AI quickly proved to be an efficient solution, and midtchat has since expanded to cover additional areas, such as diagnoses and grouping (DRG), querying meeting minutes, and generating visuals for communication purposes.

midtchat provides quick and comprehensive answers that are easy to verify via source references. Each topic is connected to an expert who ensures that the answers maintain a high level of quality. These experts are the same contact persons that employees would otherwise call or email with their questions. The system is designed so that topics and frameworks can be customized for individual users. For example, medical secretaries in Aarhus only see topics relevant to their work, with answers tailored to their specific functions.

midtchat can also be used for proofreading, copywriting, analyses, and more—similar to ChatGPT or Claude.
